The next largest bidder only has 32 acres - room for just a casino and parking lot. 2) Best Location - Over 250,000 vehicles drive by the site on Interstate 80 and Interstate 57. It is truly the crossroads of the Midwest. 3) Recapture Lost Illinois Revenue - Over 70% of Northwest Indiana gaming revenue comes from Illinois residents. This location will recapture the lost revenue. 4) Largest Economic Impact - One billion dollars to the regionšs economy and over 5000 jobs. 5) Least Impact on Elgin - Goal is to increase overall revenue to the state, not shift money from one location to another. 6) Keeps It Local - Chicago is the largest feeder market in the world. The other bidders compose of large, public Las Vegas companies who wish to take our money and people to Las Vegas. We are locally owned and will keep the money in Illinois. 7) True Entertainment Destination - Water theme park, bowling complex, convention center, retail outlets, hotels, Chicagošs finest restaurants, golf course - need we say more? 8) Benefits Region - Eighteen communities have a shared revenue plan, the other bidding cities do not. This will benefit the entire region. 9) Complies With The Riverboat Gambling Act - The intention is to benefit economically depressed communities and increase tourism in Illinois. Waukegan in the Northshore, Rosemont and Des Plaines are not economically depressed.
